DOCUMENTARY
DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKING, FOR ME, IS A WAY TO ENGAGE DEEPLY WITH THE WORLD AND THE STORIES THAT SHAPE IT.
IT ALLOWS ME TO EXPLORE HUMAN EXPERIENCES WITH HONESTY, AND SENSITIVITY.
THROUGH MY WORK, I AIM TO CAPTURE NOT ONLY EVENTS BUT THE EMOTIONS, CONNECTIONS, AND REFLECTIONS THAT GIVE THEM MEANING, MAKING DOCUMENTARY A VITAL TOOL FOR EMPATHY, INSIGHT, AND LASTING IMPACT.
COMEBACK
The documentary “Comeback - The Becky Downie documentary“ is a film about the multiple time olympic gymnast Becky Downie coming back to her worldclass level performance after overcoming several life changing challenges.
Working with the emmy-award winning LA based Producer, Deanna Hong, I learnt a lot about international industries, systems and workflows. Also, being a Director of Photography on documentaries always teaches you to perform under pressure and find spontaneous solutions for unpredictable problems.
“Becky Downies story is not a fairy tale. It’s a story of somebody who refused to give up.”
Olly Hogben // British Olympic commentator
DREAMLAND
In my master film “Dreamland,” together with Corentin Jeanrot, I explored how different subcultures along the southern Atlantic coast coexist, navigating the balance between personal interests and mutual respect.
Coordinating, co-directing, and filming this beautiful project has taught me much more than just workflows and technical skills. While learning about French culture, local stories, and the impact of mass tourism, we got to feel the connections between people and place, and the delicate balance communities try to maintain between tradition and change.
Since the project is still in its final stages, you can get a sense of it through the published snippets and stills.
